An independent UK film based in the raw streets of Peterborough. The story which is based on true events is depicted around the life of 'Heads Up' owner and Hip hop artist Ross Strothers AKA Rhags. The premier of the film was held at Peterboroughs Key Theatre and was a red carpet event. Everyone dressed smart and sexy. We even had the likes of Olympic gymnast Louis Smith in the building. Rhags pulled out all the stops to ensure his night was a success and it paid off. The place was packed and the atmosphere was electric. If I'm honest, I have never attended an event in Peterborough like it. It was great to see.

The night was hosted by the ever hilarious Skilly Skillz and he blew us all away with the incredible sounds of the human beat box. Elson Barbosa performed four tracks including singles 'Hero' and 'Switch It Up' getting the crowd literally on their feet dancing away. Then we were all taken aback as Omen D took the stage to deliver, with great impact, a somewhat raw and lyrically deep acapella.

The film itself had a Pulp Fiction-esque feel about it, with the end scene as the beginning. It was dramatic to say the least,so we were all gripped to the screen. It shows us how growing up on the streets of Peterborough is not all its cracked up to be. Life throws some hard times and tough choices our way, you either roll with the crowd or you make something of yourself. I'm not going to tell you too much about the film as it will be available on DVD in the new year. But, I will say, if fast paced drama, action, danger, drugs and hip hop is your thing, watch this film! Rhags himself took to the stage to show his appreciation to all those involved in the production of the film and those who helped make it happen. Artist J. Denzel was mentioned throughout the night and it was clear his presence was greatly missed. May he Rest in Peace.
